Pelvic floor dysfunction affects over 52 million women in the U.S. alone. But most women don’t realize that’s what it is. 


They assume it’s just a normal part of getting older, or something that happens after kids or during workouts - and they quietly live with it. Pee pads get tossed in the shopping cart, and they try not to think about it.
 

But here’s the truth: Any kind of leakage is a red flag. 

It’s a sign that the pelvic floor muscles aren’t functioning properly. Ignoring the issue is generally a bad idea, as these problems are progressive. They can worsen over time - especially around menopause, when loss of estrogen and age weakens our muscles. 

Left unaddressed, they can develop into pelvic organ prolapse or eventually require surgery. 
The good news? If you catch them early and start training those muscles to work properly, you can often restore pelvic floor strength and eliminate symptoms entirely.
